Synopsis

Madison Ashley-Cooper has been struggling with phone addiction throughout her teenage years. Her mental health is in trouble. So, her mother Laurie Ashley Cooper brings her to see her psychiatrist  to undertake a nomophobia test to determine how bad her smartphone addiction is. Madison’s record score is of no surprise to Laurie who is dismayed at how much a single device has destroyed her close bond with her daughter.

This tension is compounded by just the two of them living together in the family home, after Madison’s dad chose to stay in New York.

Laurie remembers the sparkle in Madison’s eyes and is saddened that the only light in Madison’s eyes now is from the brightness of her phone’s display.

In a confrontation at their home, Laurie finally strikes a chord, causing Madison to ponder how far her smartphone addiction has taken her away from the importance of human connection.

Madison endeavours to heal the bond with her mother, but in doing so, she must find a way to rip the digital world from her fingertips.
